Replace Those Missing Teeth With A Dental Bridge
Today, modern dentistry helps people keep their smiles for life!
During generations past, lost teeth were considered an inevitable consequence of aging. Now we know how to better care for our smiles as they age. With modern advances, you can have a comfortable, healthy smile for life.
When it comes to cosmetic and restorative dentistry, it isn’t complicated and there’s very little discomfort. More and more seasoned citizens are keeping their teeth AND beautifying their smiles with dental bridges.
At Longwood Dental Group, our cosmetic dentists will prescribe a dental bridge when one or more teeth are missing. A dental bridge is used to replace missing teeth and maintain the internal structure of the face. Without a dental bridge, your remaining teeth can shift, your bite can be altered and the integrity of your overall dental health compromised.
A dental bridge consists of an artificial tooth that is attached to two surrounding teeth that have been prepared with dental crowns. Dental bridges are made from three types of material:
- solid gold for reliable long wear
- porcelain fused to a gold base for strength and beauty
- and high-strength metal-free porcelain for optimum cosmetic dental results.
Creating A Dental Bridge
Dental bridges are prescribed for missing teeth. The adjacent teeth are prepared by eliminating tooth structure. After fabrication the bridge is cemented to the prepared teeth. Bridges restore the natural beauty and health of teeth.
